Jake Helveston

Bio

Jake Helveston is entering his 24th season as a coach and his first as a Head Coach for the Oneonta Redskins. He most recently was the Defensive Coordinator for the 2025 State Champion Clay-Chalkville Cougars where he was in that role for two seasons heading a group that only allowed 10.2 pts./game. With an extensive defensive background, he has served as a defensive assistant on every staff he's been a part of including 3 State Championships, Thompson (2019), Clay-Chalkville (2023, 2025). He has overseen the weight room as Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for several years and has seen the transformations of every program lead to championships as a part of his weight room and off-season culture. As a College player, Jake was a 3 Time All-Conference player for the University of Redlands in Southern California. Jake has been married to Falon Helveston for 10 years and they have 3 children, Allie Paige (16), Turner Stone (15), and Presley Kathryn (8).
